Today is our third post on the wondrously delicious Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit. We are looking at the four basic cards that the kit makes to begin our journey (and be sure to come back next week to see how we bust out of the box!). So far we’ve offered our collective wisdom on Season’s Greetings:
And Merry Christmas:
And now hold on to your knitted caps, because today we are making the Happy Holidays card!
Although we love the serenity of the first two cards, we also are seriously digging the jazzy stripes of this card’s border coupled with the watercolored trees and sassy use of glitter.
Our Tips for Today:
Tip #1: Okay, now try not to judge, but our “holidays” stamp is a little crooked on the banner here. Want to avoid that problem? Use the Stamp-a-ma-jig! This incredibly cool tool is a must have for perfect stamp placement every time.
Tip #2: Shhhhh….this tip is a secret. This kit calls for ink in Old Olive, Bermuda Bay, Cherry Cobbler and Smoky Slate. But guess what? If you don’t have those colors, you can use what you’ve got! Don’t have Bermuda Bay? Try Lost Lagoon. Out of Old Olive? Swap it out for Garden Green. Misplaced that Cherry Cobbler or Smokey Slate? Get out your Real Red or Basic Gray. We won’t tell a soul. (Pssst… and here’s a game for you: see if you can spot where we switched out the colors in next week’s projects. Hee hee! Aren’t we the dickens??)
Thanks for coming!
