Sarah grew up in Moss Beach, CA, a small town about 20 miles south of San Francisco. And, as many locals from this coastal town know, Moss Beach has a ghost. There is a story about a married woman, who, many years ago, fell in love with a handsome, dangerous man who worked as a musician. Her husband was completely unaware of this illicit affair and this woman, who always dressed in blue, made many trips to the Coastside to be with this mysterious man. Their favorite meeting place was a hotel and the nearby bar and restaurant, the Distillery. The woman in blue was mysteriously killed while walking on the beach below the restaurant with her lover. (Some versions say he was assaulted, but survived. Others claim that she threw herself from a cliff and he was later decapitated by her avenging husband.) The Blue Lady, as she has come to be called, still roams the beach and restaurant, searching for her lover. She makes herself known through a variety of unexplainable pranks:
- strange phone calls that appear to come from no one
- levitating checkbooks
- rooms locked from the inside
- lost earrings from multiple restaurant patrons (which are usually found, altogether, weeks later)
- sightings
- strange computer glitches
In honor of Halloween, and as a special homage to the Blue Lady, we offer this desktop wallpaper.
Happy Haunting!
