Our Topic:
This week we gave some thought to the things that inspire us. Like last week’s music post, the hardest part about this was narrowing it down. Our initial ideas centered on the people in our lives: family, friends and co-workers. But we know there will be tons of opportunities in our 52 weeks together to include our peeps. So we decided to work with broader strokes: the three categories of people, nature and words.
We also wanted to incorporate more paper in this layout, as last week’s had….well….none. So we took out the paper we are working with right now and put together a basic layout to give our pages a simple, elegant look.
Your Challenge:
Create a layout with pictures representing whatever inspires you the most. Think of this page as a place you can come to get back to your roots—back to your most basic self. What do you value? What opens up your creativity? There is no right answer, people, so don’t stress yourself about creating the ultimate, most inspiring, greatest layout ever. (When we worked on it, we, once again, found ourselves on Pinterest. What a great tool for finding what we are drawn to!)
Design:
We wanted the pictures to do the talking here, so we kept the embellishments to a minimum. We did design an “inspired by” card, which we would like to offer to you here, as a thank you for joining us on this journey and just being your awesome self. Just print it, use a marker to add what inspires you and you’re good to go!
When we had the layout done, we felt it still need a little something, so we added the wooden elements, which we had as part of original starter kit. (To see what we included in our kit, click here.) The little word bubble was perfect for the “words” section and the the little starburst worked well for the “nature” section. Then we created a little banner and circle element for our friend, Harriet. It looks like she just won an award (which she totally deserves, by the way).
Hope you enjoy this layout. Go ahead and give your own a try and let us know how it goes!
Toodles!
