You know when you are cruising along, crafting and minding your own business and suddenly it hits you that you’ve been doing it all wrong and in that instant you conceive of a brilliant and mind blowing new way to do something? We hope so, because here at Finders Keepers, that happens a lot and we LOVE IT.
Long story short, we were making our little keychain charms—they are all mix and match and our wonderful customers can choose ones that look like their beloveds. So, there we were, coloring with Sharpies…..coloring….coloring…..and then BAM! Rachel had an epiphany about coloring. “And why is it,” she said, “that we are using Sharpies and not Blendabilities…????!!!”
I fell out of my chair in a dead faint. Rachel blows my mind that way.
So now we are using Blendabilities and loving it!
Here’s a tip: when you are coloring and working with a lot of colors, color a sample square of each and then put each pen directly above that square. It really helps keep you from guesswork!
Tip #2: Use the SU! All in the Family MDS Download for the people and print them on Shrinky Dink Clear Shrinking Plastic. For some reason, the white plastic does funky things with the printer ink and your Charmings will be RUINED!!! Oh no!!!
Tip #3: All of the Blendabilities skin tones work, except Mocha and Bronze. For some reason those go grey (see side), which just looks strange. Unless you are coloring zombies…..which is a story for another day…….
Thanks for coming!
