Summer is a great time to capture your family and friends in photos–the light is great, colors are vibrant and people are doing interesting things. And, perhaps, if your family is like ours, they may occasionally object to one more “family posed on the front steps according to height” photo. Ahem.
Here at Finders Keepers, we are always thinking of ways to make photos new and fresh. Here are some of our favorite, can’t-miss summer pictures.

Yum. Surrounded by cool, fresh, delicious food? Grab a quick photo. (And don’t be afraid to zoom in close.) |

Ice cream? It’s a sure thing, with a sky for the backdrop. |

Okay. Great. Now we’re hungry. Anything from the grill, on the grill or on it’s way to the grill makes a great summertime shot. |

Our children. Small animals. An unbeatable combination. These photos NEVER FAIL. |

Beaches at sunset are impossible to get wrong. The lighting is awesome, which leads to either great pictures of friends and family, or beautifully silhouetted figures. Can’t lose. |

Biking, canoeing, kayaking, hiking. Any outdoorsy, healthy activity looks terrific on film. |

Anyone with a ball doing something athletic makes a great summer shot. |

Yes, Independence Day has passed, but fireworks still abound at county fairs and theme parks. Check out these helpful articles for taking fantastic fireworks photos. It’s easier than you might think! |

Flip flops in water, sandals lined up on a deck, feet in the sand. These are all great pictures that will make your layouts pop and really can’t go wrong. |

Writing in the sand (or arranging stones to spell out a message) make a great album starter. You can write the season, the year or your family name. |
