We’re Bustin’ Out

watercolorangel_1

Welcome, crafters!

In our recent posts, we’ve been showing the cards from Stampin’ Up!’s Watercolor Winter Card Kit. In our last post, we finished showing the four cards that the kit was designed to make. Aaand….We gave you a hint about today’s project…..”a bell will ring.”

Do you get it?? Sarah loves It’s a Wonderful Life and watches it every Christmas. In the final scene (spoiler alert) little Zuzu says, “Teacher says, ‘Every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings.’” (A star for a day if you read that in Zuzu’s little voice.)

Today we used the Watercolor Winter kit to give an angel her wings.

Tip #1: The angel’s head is punched from one of the white cards with a 1-1/4” punch. Honestly, we would recommend using the 1” punch, as we think her head is a little big.

watercolorangel_2Tip #2: The hair is made with the same circle punch, using the Crumb Cake card.

Tip #3: We stamped the greeting not in Bermuda Bay, which coordinates with the kit, but—hold on to your hats—Island Indigo! Why? Because it was handy and it looks great.

Tip #4: We used Tombow straight from the bottle to run a bead around the banner and finished it off with Gold Stampin’ Glitter.

Kind of peaceful, isn’t it?

Enjoy your day and we’ll see you next time for some scrapbooking ideas!
